Use your low beams
Do not use your high beams when you drive in the fog. They just make visibility worse as the light bounces off of the water particles. Instead, use fog lights or low beams. This gives you the maximum amount of visibility for those conditions.
Remain focused
Do not simply keep driving in the fog as if nothing has changed. Take the weather conditions seriously and remain focused on the road. Pedestrians, cyclists and even other vehicles could materialize very quickly ahead of your car, and you must be ready to react.
Consider stopping safely
The biggest mistake people make in the fog is significantly slowing down or stopping while they’re still on the road. This often leads to rear-end accidents because other drivers can’t see them. If the fog is so bad that you cannot continue driving, pull as far off of the road as you can or park in a parking lot until it clears.
